Beginning September 25th, we invite you to join Bethel Academy and Phillip Ortiz for a Pencil Drawing Class. The class will be on Monday evenings from 6pm - 7:30pm and is for ages 11 and up.
Parents are welcome attend with their children and student supplies are provided. The class is open to our community and 3 of our 10 slots are already filled.

Phillip has been drawing and creating for as long as he can remember. He has over 16 years experience and a degree in Advertising Art. He has taught children, young adults and adults. Phillip owns and operates Peel, a design and illustration company in Grandview MO.

I believe that drawing is essential to the creative world. Drawing is at the beginning of any great work of art or creative idea. In my class you will gain an understanding of pencil technique, how to use light and shadow to create emotion and impact. You will learn the process of shading to create depth, movement and texture. I will show you how to take you ideas/images and translate them into a finished pencil drawing. My goal is that you will leave feeling comfortable with a pencil in you hand and ready to sketch!
